Jo-Ann's Fabrics was next, and after a backseat bottle feeding, we tested out Arlo Transportation Device #2 (Snap and Go stroller) to much success. (Later that day, of course, Arlo reminded us that if a baby sleeps a lot during the afternoon, he will then not sleep so much, say, very early the next day! Ha-ha!) Breathable mesh material for a cradle bumper was bought without incident.
The past two days have been good and quiet, but for the occasional crying jag, and that's been fine as Maggie and I don't much mind just reading, emailing, and watching This American Life episodes on Netflix when there's a moment to unwind. Arlo continues to have conflicted feelings about his spongebath...
...and has taken a real shine to hanging out on our chests, where he gets to work on lifting up his head. Yesterday he showed Auntie Julia the pose he's going to use for his Class of '27 (!) graduation photo.
I go back to work on Monday, and at some point Maggie will start doing a little editing part-time, but now we're just laying low, enjoying our baby staycation while it lasts. As the guy on the Old Milwaukee ad used to say: it doesn't get any better 'n this.
